Detailed Summary

The main trio are at Tadakuni’s house. Hidenori says he’s bored and that they should role-play Dragon Quest. He asks Tadakuni to choose a save log, and ‘log #2’ is chosen. Immediately, the others get into character. Yoshitake takes Hidenori hostage and threatens Tadakuni, while Hidenori’s character yells in fright.

Yoshitake then takes up another character behind Tadakuni, criticizing him as a ‘rookie’ for provoking the villain. Addressing him as ‘Captain’, Hidenori’s second character charges at the villain, but the Captain tells ‘Fatty’ that he is no match for him. Tadakuni is bewildered by the rapid changes, even more so when the Captain declares this the ‘end of training’.

The Captain then tells Tadakuni to relax with a nice bath, and they head off. Suddenly, they are blocked by another character (played by Hidenori) who glares at them, forbidding them from passing. The Captain asks him who he is, but he shrugs off the question. He adds that if they absolutely needed to go through, they must pay him the bath entry fee. He turns out to be the bath house manager.

The Captain enters the women’s bath, surprising Tadakuni. Fatty joins Tadakuni to enter the bath, but Tadakuni doesn’t remember who he is, which offends him. New characters begin introducing themselves to Tadakuni, such as Markovich the subordinate (Yoshitake) and Hopper (Hidenori), and the sheer number of characters overwhelms him. Hopper explains that they are all part of the army that plans to storm the demon lord’s castle the next day.

The bath house manager then adds that the demon lord might be anticipating this, confusing Tadakuni as to why he’s even part of their group. The Captain declares that it’s time to set off, but the group stops upon hearing a deep laugh. A shadowy figure confronts them, claiming to have found them at last. The Captain demands to know who he is, but Tadakuni points out that it’s pretty obvious even with the silhouette.
