Motoharu (元治、モトハル) is one of the members of the student council in North Saneda High School. He has a scary look which often makes people mistake him as the delinquent: a trait which he shares with Vice President and Karasawa. He was often bullied by his sister when he was younger, but eventually his sister grew out of it considerably and since then they both maintain a good sibling relationship. He is also an excellent cook.

Appearance Edit

Motoharu is usually seen with his Sanada North High  uniform: white shirt, navy blue jacket, and navy blue slacks with occasional red tie. Although he prefers to be loose with the dress code; usually not wearing a tie or jacket, or even wearing his shirt unbuttoned, he does dress up when needed.

During his first appearances, he styles his bangs slicked back. In later episodes, he wears his bangs down. He also has a goatee and beard, however it was forcefully shaved off in High School Boys and Seniority. He manages to grow his goatee and beard back later.

Personality Edit

Motoharu was introduced as a delinquent in the anime. Although never openly stated, his reputation as a delinquent might have come from his outer appearance, which people tend to find intimidating or scary. Despite this, Motoharu has never showed any violent tendency outside of occasional hitting his friends for his role as the tsukkomi. Motoharu is also a generally good-hearted person, this was shown when he and his friends tricked Ringo to peek at her panties, he felt so guilty afterwards that he missed school for three days.

Relationships Edit

Motoharu has a somewhat harmonic relationship with his older sister. In High School Boys and Childhood, he reminisces with his sister about how their sibling relationship is considerably closer when compared to his friends' with their siblings since their parents were not always present. However, that is not to say that he isn't bullied or harassed by her at all. His sister likes to wield her seniority on him. This was shown in High School Boys and Seniority where Mino and her friends harassed him by forcing him to quote silly comedians and putting ponytails on his hair.

He is most seen with the Vice President and Karasawa due to the fact that the trio are in the Student Council. Coincidentally, all of the three have intimidating looks and are often mistaken as delinquents instead.
